Privacy Policy

1. Information Storage & Collection
My LifeVault does not collect, harvest, or transmit your personal data. All files (identity scans, PDF documents, tags) and family profiles (names, physical sizes, medical cards) are stored locally in the application's secure private directory. We do not use remote servers to backup or view your data.
2. Local Encryption & Security
Your locally exported backups are encrypted using 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) with a password that you choose. Because we operate entirely offline, we do not store your decryption passwords. If you lose your backup password, your database cannot be recovered by us or anyone else.
3. Device Permissions
To function, My LifeVault requests specific system permissions on your phone:
- Camera: Used only to scan documents and crop borders natively.
- Biometrics/Face ID/Fingerprint: Invoked through standard Android APIs on startup to lock and unlock the application.
- Storage/Photos/Files: Used to import gallery scans, export database backups, or receive files from the system share menu.
4. Third-Party Integrations & Advertising
My LifeVault includes Google AdMob integration to serve advertisements in the free tier of the application, and Google Play Billing for premium upgrades. Google AdMob may collect and use device identifiers (like the advertising ID) to serve relevant advertisements. These identifiers are subject to Google's AdMob Privacy Policies. No personal documents or database metadata are shared with Google AdMob.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Since the application does not have access to your email or profiles, updates will be posted inside the application update changelogs or on this webpage.
